Amber Savage

Managing Director

Amber is an experienced, driven and confident HR professional, who uses a pragmatic approach to support businesses with their HR challenges and develops innovative solutions that effectively balance the commercial reality of running a business.

Delivering end to end HR business partner expertise to geographically dispersed workforces in health, community services, manufacturing, FMCG and professional services, Amber has extensive operational and strategic HR experience built over more than 15 years. Amber specialises in supporting organisations to lead organisational change, particularly the implementation of HR and Payroll systems and organisational restructures.

Amber lives in Brisbane with her partner and two kids and loves hiking, travel and a good Wilbur Smith book.

Mark Woodbourne

General Manager

With three decades of career history, Mark has obtained an extensive range of knowledge and experience in Industrial and Employee Relations, gained within a wide range of industries internationally.

Understanding, and being able to articulate in clear terms, complex human resource management and industrial relations matters to find pragmatic, fit-for-purpose solutions for clients is a key area of experience for Mark.

Mark is a graduate of a military college, having served as a commissioned officer for most of his decade of military service and more recently, Mark has completed a Graduate Certificate in Management and a Master of Business Administration, specialising in Human Resource Management.

Mark lives in Brisbane and enjoys time with his family who love to travel and spend time exploring new places.

Sarah Medson

Compliance Manager

Sarah brings her flair for payroll to each and every pay run, leveraging over 20 years of experience as a registered BAS Agent and Certified Practicing Accountant. Her deep industry knowledge ensures not only accurate and efficient payroll processing but also meticulous adherence to compliance regulations. Known for her exceptional communication skills, Sarah facilitates seamless interactions between employers and employees, fostering a harmonious work environment with payroll matters.

Sarah is a huge fan of coffee, lover of music, art and adventures & mum to 2 beautiful girls. She also loves animals & enjoys a glass of wine!

Claire Byrne

Payroll Services Manager

Claire is a highly organised & details orientated payroll professional with over a decade of experience within industries of various sizes & complexities. Her industry experience includes freight transport, FMCG, retail, finance, labor hire, recruitment, health & social support, building & construction, employment & RTOs, to name a few.

Driven by her passion for payroll, she provides clients with an exceptional payroll experience that allows them to focus on the demands of their business with the confidence that payroll will be delivered on time, accurately & compliantly. She delivers end-to- end payroll solutions & has propelled various projects through her ability to effectively engage with stakeholders. This experience has provided her with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvements in system utilisation & how that relates to payroll processes.

She currently holds a Diploma of Payroll Services & is working to complete her Diploma of Payroll Management.

When Claire isn't thinking about payroll, she's spending family time with her husband, two kids & her fur babies. She is also an avid console gamer & gym goer.

Jennifer (Jen) McLeod

Senior HR Consultant

Jennifer is a pragmatic and driven HR and Business Change professional with global experience spanning professional services, retail and not for profit. Jennifer has partnered with business across Australia, the US, Europe and the UK and brings a value add approach to her work, placing an emphasis on understanding how HR can benefit and support teams and businesses. Jennifer has experience delivering outcomes across the employee lifecycle and successfully supporting teams to adopt and embed large-scale, complex changes, particularly in heavily regulated sectors.

Jennifer holds a Bachelors in Law and Social Sciences and a Masters in Business and is an experienced return to work coordinator with a background in workplace health and safety.

Jennifer has recently moved back to Brisbane from London and spends her time with her family and exploring Brisbane.

Ashleigh Boucher

Senior HR Advisor

Ashleigh began her career as a Marketing Intern for an outsourced Human Resources and Recruitment agency, where she discovered her passion for Human Resources. This pivotal experience inspired her to shift her career focus, and she has since built extensive expertise in the HR field.

With a strong foundation in blue-collar industries, Ashleigh has provided comprehensive HR and recruitment support across sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, road transport, and mining. She excels in delivering tailored, practical solutions by fostering genuine connections with team members and understanding their unique needs. Ashleigh takes pride in offering fit-for-purpose advice that empowers businesses and individuals alike.

Based in Brisbane, Ashleigh enjoys tending to her collection of houseplants and experimenting in the kitchen. She especially loves hosting weekend barbecues, bringing together friends for good food and great company.

Madison (Madi) Jarrett

HR Advisor

Madi is a dedicated HR and recruitment professional passionate about partnering with businesses to enable meaningful and rewarding work for their people, with robust experience in the healthcare industry. Known for her strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving skills, Madi enjoys leveraging data and market trends to drive impactful HR solutions that align with organisational goals. Her expertise spans a diverse range of areas including end-to-end recruitment, strategic sourcing, people data analysis, learning and engagement, employee wellbeing, and reward and recognition.

Madi is passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion and has a proven track record in implementing effective wellbeing and reward and recognition initiatives, driven to ensure everyone feels valued and like they belong in their workplace.

Madi holds a Bachelor in Business, is a Professional MAHRI member, and an accredited mental health first aider.

Madi lives near the Bayside with her husband and baby girl and loves coffee, travel, playing frisbee, walks by the bay, and swimming.

Jason (JP) Portelli

HRIS Specialist

Jason is a tech futurist specialising in HR technology. Having worked across most industry sectors, he brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of HR technology, AI strategy development, process evolution, software configuration optimisation, and project management to the Nellers team. As a tech consultant who has worked in the HR software world for over a decade, he shares his experiences from inside the software world to ensure clients get the best return and greatest impact from their technology.

With hands-on experience across Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific, and the UK, he has built and led teams across many aspects of the HR tech space, and his people-centric approach allows him to deliver tech solutions that support the team to greater outcomes. His experience has helped him play an integral part in the growth of tech businesses from start-up to ASX listing and beyond, along with providing clients with a fast track to value out of their tech solutions. Jason is an avid user of AI technology, where he takes a people-focused, risk-centric approach to using AI within a workplace setting.

Jason is also a speaker, Podcast host, and foodie who loves to explore new cuisines.

Melissa (Mel) Adams

HRIS Specialist

Mel has spent the last decade immersed in the payroll space, developing a deep expertise in implementation, projects, and system configuration, with a keen interest in leveraging AI to enhance efficiency.

Having worked for a large HRIS software company, resolving complex payroll and system queries has become second nature to her. Her experience spans across diverse industries, including construction, healthcare, technology, and finance, giving her a broad perspective on the unique challenges each sector faces.

With a passion for streamlining processes, she is always looking for innovative ways to get systems to do the heavy lifting, freeing up time for more strategic work.

Now based in Byron Bay, Mel balances her professional pursuits with a newfound love for AFL and the company of her handsome golden retriever, Otis, whose photos she’s always ready to share, whether asked or not.

Daniel (Dan) Neller

Operations Manager

Dan is a highly experienced operational manager with a passion for operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Drawing on his IT experience, he is our go to guy for any tricky IT questions throughout software implementations. Predominately, Dan works behind the scenes in helping Nellers HR Consulting to create a great client experience.

Dan lives in Brisbane with his fiancée, two kids and two dogs (Audrey - the bossy, red miniature dachshund and Tilley - the Darwin rescue corgi cross cattle dog who is everyone's bestfriend). He loves anything outdoors and enjoys surfing, motorcross and flying helicopters.
